“Don’t!” he shouted from behind her, but it was too late – she had already unlatched the door.
Two muddy fingernails inched their way slowly round the doorframe, and despite pushing against it with her full weight the man on the other side was much stronger than her.
It was then that the raspy, breathy voice began to speak: “Do you have a second to talk about the love of Jesus Christ?”
