Convulsing with the shock of the teleportation, I emerged from the portal and hit the ground in a sideways roll, firing with abandon as my momentum took me across the floor.
The stream cut through dozens of these disgusting, disorientated creatures and showered the room with green blood and spiky limbs, their screams drowned out by the dreadful sound of my rifle.
As a powerful clawed hand dislodged my weapon from my grasp and made a swipe for my head, I closed my eyes and prayed for the next jump to come.
